Around Norther New Mexico

Family Reunited With Stolen Pup

Frenchie, a 4-year-old female bloodhound, was stolen from the back of her owner?s pickup truck Thursday at the Steaksmith restaurant at El Gancho.

Robert Espinosa, of Albuquerque, said Frenchie was in the pickup in an electric blanket hooked to his truck?s power supply around 7 p.m. when someone took down the tailgate and stole her. Espinosa said his two daughters were ?depressed all night? after their pet was taken.

But this story has a happy ending. Friday evening, Espinosa said he got a call from Lamy, where someone had his dog and he was able to pick her up and take her back home.

SF Residents Can Recycle Their Tree

All ornaments and lights must be removed from holiday trees. Flocked trees are not accepted, because the flocking will contaminate the mulch, which is used in parks for landscape and erosion control.
