With as little as 2 days to go until the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games the worlds sporting attention will be fixed firmly on the United Kingdom. However for many across the globe the ?greatest show on earth? will not start until one month later.? As Usain Bolt moves out of the Olympic Village in London his place will be taken by Oscar Pistorius and the rest of the world?s best Paralympic athletes. The 2012 London Paralympic Games kicks off? On August 29th as many as 4,200 athletes with a disability representing 150 countries ? the most ever ? will descend on London for the opening of the 2012 Paralympics games.

BlazeSports? Ann Cody, Director of Policy and Global Outreach, and Stuart Sharp, Director of International Sport Development will be attending Paralympic Games in official capacities.? Ann will be attending as a member of the International Paralympic Committee?s (IPC) Governing Board and is the highest ranking American and highest ranking woman in the IPC worldwide. She is also a Paralympic Gold Medalist in Athletics and competed on three U.S. Paralympic Teams (Basketball ?84, Athletics ?88, ?92).? Stuart is a member of the International Paralympic Committee?s Sports Council and holds the position of Head of Technical Control in the sport of 7-a-Side Football for The Cerebral Palsy Sport and Recreation Association (CPISRA). Stuart will have the position of LOCG 7-side Football Advisor and CPISRA Football Technical Representative for the duration of the Games.
