Cooler temperatures Low pressure areas will dominate the United Kingdom for much of the upcoming week giving unsettled weather to all parts. Areas of rain clear to showers as temperatures drop. Later in the week indications are that high pressure builds in and turns things settled and dry. For the weather for the next few days click here Tuesday 28/08/12 Continued windy across Scotland today. For much of the day expect sunny spells and scattered showers across the country, although these will be very widely scattered across England and Wales with most places dry. Expect highs of 16 to 21C. Wednesday 29/08/12 Mostly cloudy across the country today with occasional showers. Some of the showers will be heavy with brief sunnier spells. Expect maximum temperatures of 16 to 20C. Thursday 30/08/12 Rather windy and cool with lots of showers developing across the country today and these will be heavy in the afternoon. A dry night to come with clear spells. Maximum temperatures of 14 to 19C. Friday 31/08/12 Cool with a brisk north west wind. We expect further showers today but fewer and they should be less heavy. The showers fade by evening with a very chilly, dry and clear night to come. Top temperatures of 14 to 17C. Saturday 01/09/12 High pressure dominates. This will give all parts of Britain a dry day with good sunny spells. Expect top temperatures of 15 to 19C. Sunday 02/09/12 Rain moves into Scotland, Northern Ireland and later northern England. Central and southern parts of England looks dry and sunny. Expect high temperatures of 16 to 20C.
