Valley of Flowers trek is accessible only through a long walk of 17 miles of Gobindghat, a village some distance from Joshimath. There is a small settlement about 3 miles of the valley known as Ghangharia serving as a resting place for hikers who come to the Valley. The entry permit is obtained from Forest Check post in Ghangaria, which allows people to go beyond the solution. The permit is valid up to 3 days and a nominal fee is charged. July, August to September are best season for trekking in Valley of Flowers.
